People are being rescued who have fallen from our many waterfalls these days. After Hurricane Helene changed the paths of many of our water courses, the falls and pools below them are much more dangerous. But the park service which looks after the grounds, paths, parking lots and restrooms are diligent and trying to keep things safe.
What about those who want a photo with the pretty scene in the background?
Did you notice this is a winter-time shot? Two granddaughters at the fort in St. Augustine FL

When we’re feeling lonely, we’ve lost the idea that we’re all one, and none of us are separate from the whole
These are all wonderful photos incorporating both subjects & the scenery behind them. My favorite is the cousins standing on the bench with that wide open view behind them. Really neat. As for people doing dangerously dumb things trying to get the perfect picture with waterfalls & such - that's a common problem here in Yosemite. It seems like every summer someone goes around the boundaries to get that perfect picture and winds up going over a fall. Such a needless shame.
ReplyDeleteI can't help noticing the similarity between the photos of Harry Elk and your youngest son. Right hand on knees and left hand used for support. But your son is looking a lot happier! And possibly the Atlantis picture was taken by an automatic camera?
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the children standing on a park bench rather than sitting on it... :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent collection of family photos, including the last studio shot to match the prompt. I remember visiting Niagara Falls as a child, when you could walk very close to the water above the falls. It's a wonder more tourists didn't fall in! Falls are beautiful, but not to be messed with.
ReplyDeleteJust when we think we've had enough rain, a summer season of drought makes us wish we had gushing waterfalls again. You last photo was a perfect match for our theme!
ReplyDeleteDramatic picture, Barbara and her granddaughters looked so happy. I was particularly struck by the photograph of your little grandson - with his curly mop of hair, - he was so like young Arthur Smith in my post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue...glad you could see this post and comment...though I'm not in any of these photos. And that last shot may look like a grandson if it was current, but it's a long ago photo of my youngest son. Which reminds me, I should send it to him, since he's losing some of his hair up top these days!
