My own life and my opinions are shared at When I was 69.

REMEMBER: In North America, the month of September 1752 was exceptionally short, skipping 11 days, when the Gregorian Calendar was adapted from the old Julian one, which didn't have leap year days.

the other 3 sides of the monument

In the Old Congregational Burying ground in Stratford CT.
I've seen many photos of one side of this monument. But when I started searching for when it was carved and erected, I looked at the listing of all the Booths buried in this cemetery.  And I found out something that should have occurred to me earlier.  There were 4 sides to this monument, and the other 3 which I hadn't seen, at least were listed in the inventory of the cemetery.

*******************************

Some of these ancestors have headstones as well as being commemorated on this marker.  The latest death date I see is 1852.  I imagine the monument was erected sometime near that date.

Here are the plaques at the entrance to the Burying Ground
In honor of
the men and women
who planted in the wilderness
the early homes of Stratford,
who fought bravely and suffered patiently
in the War of the American Revolution,
and who left to their descendents
a proud memory of courage,
endurance and faith in God.

Though I've now found lists of Booths in each of the Stratford Cemeteries...no luck on finding who put up the Booth monument.  There's a "Memorial" park and has lots of buildings, called Booth Park and Memorial in Stratford, which gets all the hits when I try to find information on the memorial in the cemetery.  I will try to contact the Historic Society next.
